Wonderful sighting with this leopard.
Date: 19-11-2009
Along the main road between Crocodile Bridge and Lower Sabie (opposit of the S28) in a big tree in the dry riverbed called Mativuhlungu we saw this leopard eating. As we could see he had a impala kill.
After dinner it was good sleeping / digesting, so patience was the task for us, waiting for her to get up .....
It was not easy to get nice pictures of her since the tree covered her most of the time and the distance to the tree was about 100 meter.
With this picture (to the right) you can get a bit of an idea how war, taking into account that this picture was made with 150mm zoom allready.
The other pictures were made with full 400mm zoom.
The leopard at the picture is the mother of this tiny cub.
Big distance...about 100+ meters away
But..I never saw a leopard cub before so I like to share this with you ...
I called him "little blue eye" ..so cute ...
He was waiting for mom...the little one in a dangerous world around him...
Hyena was not far away and deadly for a young like this..
I was glad mom came back with a kill and called her cub....
